Low-cost software is for building process-driven applications in Microsoft SharePoint products and technologies.
Redmond, WA, June 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- K2®, a division of SourceCode Technology Holdings, Inc., today announced the upcoming availability of K2 blackpoint™ — low-cost software that allows users to quickly build workflow solutions and process-driven applications within Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
With K2 blackpoint, drag-and-drop tools and a Microsoft Office-style designer allow even non-technical business users to create new business processes that span libraries, sites, server farms and organizations; manage approvals; and route documents and list items. In addition, users can assemble applications from information that already exists.
K2 blackpoint will also include a Silverlight-based designer, making it the only software to offer both thick- and thin-client tools for building solutions in SharePoint.

K2 blackpoint-based workflows are accessed through standard menus in Office SharePoint Server 2007 and can be initiated manually or as a result of events, like when documents are checked in, deleted or inserted. Tasks are available in SharePoint Server 2007 task lists or through a K2 Web part for SharePoint products that allows for a consolidated view of tasks across multiple sites, processes and SharePoint servers.
All K2 blackpoint processes are stored and executed within a K2 server — allowing for a seamless upgrade to K2’s core product, K2 blackpearl.
