pulse Provides City of Kitchener with Modern and Flexible Approach to Building Inspection Services
Toronto, Canada, June 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Pulse Voice Inc., a leading provider of intelligent communications solutions for business and government organizations, today announced the City of Kitchener has deployed the pulse Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to provide contractors and residents with over-the-phone building inspection related services.
Through the use of a touch-tone telephone the pulse IVR system enabled the building applicants to check status of building permits, schedule or cancel inspections as well as obtain inspection results. Inspectors can interact with the IVR, allowing them to retrieve their daily inspection schedule and any specific instructions from the applicant.
The pulse IVR system provided a seamless integration with the city’s existing infrastructure interfacing with the AMANDA System and the Rolm Phone System. Providing a flexible and expandable solution, the system is able to schedule same day inspections; during peak season as well.
“pulse’s solution improved the City’s operational costs tremendously by reducing the number of live customer calls and administrative procedures. Inspector wait times for daily work schedules were eliminated. The IVR system also improved the efficiency of relayed information through automation and reduced the element of human error, thus improving accuracy. These services are available almost 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year.” said Jim Witmer at City of Kitchener.
According to Kandeepan Kandasamy, Chief Operating Officer for Enterprise solutions at pulse voice, “We were able to significantly ease the burden of administrative processes for both the City and their customers. By first evaluating their existing systems, we were able to recommend and implement specific features and functions that would best suit their requirements. The pulse IVR system, with its high-volume capacity and intelligent reporting was an ideal fit for the City.”
