Wellingborough, United Kingdom, April 07, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Black belt instructor, Kay Parker, has recently opened two new Taekwondo clubs in Thrapston and Raunds following the success of her Northampton Taekwondo club. Based primarily in Northamptonshire, Kay teaches ITF style Taekwondo, as originally developed in Korea in 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi.

Taekwondo is an ancient form of Martial Arts (unarmed combat) practiced for many centuries in the Orient, and came to be perfected in its present form in Korea. It is not only an effective, weaponless art of self-defense, but also a competitive sport and a good method of maintaining all-round fitness.
Northants Taekwondo offer students the opportunity to become a Black Belt in a well known and respected Martial Art. As well as learn street useful self-defense techniques, compete in sporting tournaments throughout the UK and abroad and generally be more healthier and confident. As an exercise Taekwondo is equally suitable for the more mature as well as for young men, women and children. Many Taekwondo practitioners report improved health and fitness levels after regular training.
Taekwondo is for everyone, whether a you are a young 6 year old, or a more mature 60+ year old. It is designed so that even someone with the slightest build and musculature can defend themselves against the largest of attackers. It is the technique itself and not the build of the student that generates power. Anyone can do it, all you have to do is start.
