El ARRAYÁN Welcomes New Chef Mariano Valdés
El ARRAYÁN Welcomes New Chef Mariano Valdés who will prepare bi-weekly specials and teach the summer cooking classes.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, June 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Experienced Mexican Chef Offers Unique Specials and New Twists on Old Favorites.
Owners Carmen Porras and Claudia Victoria are pleased to announce the addition of Chef Mariano Valdés to the El ARRAYÁN family. Mariano joins the team at local favorite Mexican restaurant, El ARRAYÁN after many years of working in top positions for several well known companies.
“We are very excited about the new specials that Mariano is designing for our customers. In the last month, even our regulars have noticed positive differences in some of their favorite recipes. Mariano has been very well received, not only by the staff but by the customers as well,” comments Carmen Porras, co-owner of El ARRAYÁN.
Mariano’s first special will begin June 11th and run through June 23rd. His first special is Chicken Breast filled with Requesón and Esquites. The Requesón is a Mexican ricotta, produced in small villages, local to Puerto Vallarta. Esquites are young corn kernels cooked for a long time with the regional herb Epazote. The dish is served with a Poblano Chili sauce, rice and grilled Poblano pepper slices.
Mariano will also be offering a special appetizer during this period of Jamaica Flower Quesadillas. Jamaica is known regionally as a cool, refreshing drink made from the Hibiscus flower. In this special dish, the flower is sautéed thoroughly, combined with fresh, melted Oaxaca cheese and served in freshly made corn tortillas.
In addition to new specials, Chef Mariano Valdés will also lead the summer cooking classes.
Mariano completed his culinary training at the esteemed Universidad del Claustro Sor Juana in Mexico City and has worked in several high level positions in companies such as Club France in Mexico City, and executive chef of Holiday Inn in Pachuca. El ARRAYÁN is located in El Centro on the corner of Allende and Miramar; just a short stroll from the Malecón.
