Wilmington, DE, April 07, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Local business women encourages others.
Over 70 people crowded into Purnell Hall, room 115 at University of Delaware on Wed, April 5th 2006 to hear Jessi LaCosta recall a traumatic night she endured as a young woman.
When just 16, LaCosta, now a communications coach, left her part-time job and then quickly was facing a man with a gun at her head. She was abducted and sexually assaulted – but was also eventually retuned safely to her neighborhood. LaCosta believes that her story-telling abilities and analytical skills saved her that night. She shared with a captivated audience how she endured the evening and what changes she made in her life since.
A student commented afterwards, “Thank you so much for coming. I think this was the first time I had attended one of these events and a survivor talked about it in a more positive light. This time I really listened.”
