FedEx Delivers For Slate NYC
Slate NYC Eco-Luxury Laundry and Dry Cleaning to Launch FedEx Pick Up and Delivery Service.
New York, NY, June 30, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Slate NYC and FedEx have launched a strategic alliance to offer eco-luxury laundry and dry cleaning services to residents of New York’s five boroughs, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Slate NYC users can now have their clothes picked up and delivered by FedEx, or they can pickup and drop off their clothes at any of the more than 500 FedEx Kinko’s and FedEx Authorized Ship Centers in the region.
Users fill up their Slate hamper with laundry and dry cleaning (no need to sort), schedule a recurring pickup on the Slate NYC website, and pay a flat monthly fee. Their clothes are cleaned using eco- and skin- friendly detergents and technologies – including methodTM detergents and wet cleaning – at Slate NYC’s West Village facility. Instead of using the ubiquitous and wasteful dry-cleaner bags, clean clothes are returned in custom-designed, recyclable corrugated boxes that use a significant amount of recycled content and use no toxic inks.
When: Service scheduled to launch by Monday, June 30
Where: New York’s five boroughs, New Jersey, Connecticut
Why: To decrease the environmental impact of Slate users, FedEx operates a fleet of Hybrid vehicles, efficiently plans routes to reduce redundant fuel consumption and utilizes renewable, green power. Furthermore, over 95% of existing Slate user residences are already visited by FedEx trucks on a daily basis.
To offer increased reliability, Slate NYC now benefits from the exceptional planning of and expertise of FedEx. Every day, FedEx employees monitor and plan routes according to traffic patterns, severe weather systems, emergency maintenance and even natural disasters. Slate NYC users can depend on receiving their clean clothes when they need them.
