Meteor Meet and Greet Parking Sponsors Climb to Everest Base Camp to Raise Money for the Stroke Association
Adam Hutchings, sponsored by leading meet and greet airport parking company, Meteor meet and greet parking, has climbed to the Everest base camp in 12 days, raising thousands of pounds for the Stroke Association charity.
Crawley, United Kingdom, June 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Adam Hutchings waved the flag for the nation’s favourite airport meet and greet parking company as he conquered Base Camp Mount Everest and raised £3,000 for the Stroke Association.
He completed his challenge by climbing 5,364 meters above sea level in 12 days. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world and the challenge involved tackling steep valleys and tough mountainous terrain through the Sagamartha National Park.
Adam said: "It was a journey I found to be a lot more challenging than I thought it would be, yet absolutely amazing at the same time. The most difficult part to climb was on the final stretch through the Kumba Glacier but it was all worth it. When I reached Base Camp the views were breathtaking and it was such a rewarding moment – one of the best experiences in my life. I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouragements in helping me achieve my fundraising target, especially Meteor meet and greet parking who donated £1,500 towards the trek. This donation will make such a vital difference to the people and families who have been affected by stroke."
Sarah Anglim, Director for Meteor meet and greet parking, said: "We knew Adam could do it and were pleased to support his cause. We recognise that many people are living with long-term disability as a result of strokes in the UK; it is something, which may affect our customers and even our employees therefore it’s important we support and reward exceptional individuals such as Adam, who are going that extra mile to make a difference to the lives of many."
