Patch Reaches Milestone of Selling 100 Million Puzzles

Beloit, WI, June 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- If you lined up the 105 million puzzles that Patch Products has sold, they would almost circle the globe.

Patch Products has reached the milestone of selling more than 100 million puzzles since Fran and Bryce Patch founded the company in 1985. Laid end-to-end, the puzzles would cover 23,300 miles—94 percent of the way around the world.

Consider these other fascinating facts about Patch’s 105 million puzzles:

Combined, they contain more than 1.6 billion puzzle pieces.

If you tried to assemble all the puzzles and averaged 1 minute per puzzle, which would be really fast, it would take about 200 years.

All the puzzles would fill 3,919 football fields. Placed end-to-end, they would cross 410,643 football fields.

The Patch brothers broke into the children's puzzle market in 1985 by introducing a line of PuzzlePatch puzzles. These puzzles increased in popularity and availability through national distribution and built the foundation on which Patch has grown. Today’s puzzle line includes more than 80 titles that help educate and entertain children as young as 1.

“When Fran and I created the PuzzlePatch brand 23 years ago, we didn’t realize that our puzzles would eventually reach millions of children,” said Bryce Patch, company president. “Now, adults who put together our puzzles are buying them for their own children. It’s gratifying to know that we’ve been a part of so many families’ lives.”

Through the years, Patch’s puzzles have been recognized for their educational value by Nick Jr. magazine, Great American Toy Contest, Toy Tips, National Association for Gifted Children and The American Toy Institute.

Success with the puzzle line prompted Patch to enter the competitive board game market in 1992 and develop into a principal player in the family entertainment industry.
