Sports Enthusiast Willie Donald Improves His Business Game by Joining ActionCOACH in the Scottish Capital
Willie Donald believes that as we move towards “greener” lifestyles, more people will favor small-to-medium sized businesses.
Las Vegas, NV, June 14, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Master Licensee Bruce Taylor has named Willie Donald as the newest ActionCOACH in Scotland.
Donald’s office will be located in Edinburgh, Scotland.
A business owner himself, Donald was looking for an opportunity in business coaching. He looked at several firms, but they did not have the type of people and methodologies he was looking for.
“After doing my due diligence, I found that ActionCOACH fulfilled the reputational and professional criteria that I had in mind,” he said.
Being a true entrepreneur, Donald has a vision, and he joined ActionCOACH because it supports that vision.
“I was also glad to learn of ActionCOACH’s strategy to encourage the development of firms,” he said.
Prior to becoming an ActionCOACH, Donald spent 28 years in the banking and financial services industry.
As Head of e-Commerce at Bank of Scotland, Donald set up Europe's first fully online mortgage business in The Netherlands. “I built that business along the virtual model, outsourcing everything except absolute core competencies.
As Head of Mortgage at Bank of Scotland, mortgage sales grew from 1% market share to 5% market share in three years culminating in annual sales of £3 billion,” he said. During his successful tenure at the bank, he also built a sales team and sales process that was the envy of the market.
Most recently, he set up the UK subsidiary of a Belgian investment bank, Petercam SA.
Donald believes that the public at large is quite dissatisfied with the excesses, regulatory failures, poor customer service and general poor financial performance of large corporations.
“In keeping with the move toward greener lifestyles and attitudes, most people will tend to support local small-to-medium sized enterprises that deliver better service whilst demonstrating environmental and community awareness practices,” he said. “There is significant opportunity for a business coaching firm, which is geared toward helping these smaller organizations.”
A sports enthusiast, Donald is actively involved with the Forty Club – a UK-wide club of mature cricketers that promotes cricket in schools. During his early working life, Donald spent seven years as a semi-professional footballer.
ActionCOACH is the world’s number one business coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 26 countries. To learn more, go to actioncoach.com.
