Circa 1886 Seeks "Flavor" of Charleston with Ice Cream Contest

Charleston, SC, July 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- If Charleston were an ice cream flavor, what would it be? Charlestonians will get their chance to weigh in as part of a new contest sponsored by Charleston restaurant Circa 1886, the AAA Four-Diamond, Mobil Four Star restaurant located on the grounds of the Wentworth Mansion®.

Starting today, and until July 25, the restaurant invites area residents to submit their most original "Charleston" ice cream flavor as part of the Charleston’s Choice ice cream contest. Circa 1886’s award-winning chefs will review the suggestions and select a winning entry based on taste, creativity and availability of ingredients. The restaurant will then serve it up all throughout August in an effort to offer patrons a cool treat as the summer heat winds down.

The winning flavor’s creator will receive a complimentary dinner for four at Circa 1886, excluding alcoholic beverages and gratuity but, of course, with an ice cream finale, as well as bragging rights to Charleston’s "coolest" recipe.

"We’re looking for a challenge, and I hope our guests will have fun with this," says Scott Lovorn, Circa 1886’s pastry chef. "If they can imagine it, we can create it."

To submit a recipe, please visit www.circa1886.com.
