Abby Awards Honor Unofficial Fan Made Sites for Disney Stars
Corbin Bleu based fansite AlmostBullet.com honors other unoffficial fan sites with annual award.
Las Vegas, NV, June 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Disney stars Ashley Tisdale, Emily Osment, Corbin Bleu and Zac Efron are just a few of the celebrities with unofficial fan made communities nominated for the first ever ABBY Awards.
AlmostBullet.com, an unofficial fan community for Corbin Bleu, is the official host for this award, which is sponsored by JME Entertainment. Lisa Johnverrell says that the desire to honor unofficial fan sites first came from her launching of Almost Bullet this past February.
“I was pleased to see all the dedication that these site owners give to their celebrities”, Johnverrell said. “Most of the site owners pay to host the sites out of their own pockets, giving free promotion to the celebrity and ask for nothing in return.”
The majority of fan sites nominated for this year’s awards are for Disney based celebrities, but any unofficial fan site for a celebrity 25 years and younger could have been nominated for an ABBY. The award comes with a one hundred dollar cash prize, which can be used for hosting or promotional purposes at the winner’s discretion, an award plaque, and a special banner to be displayed on the nominee’s website.
Some of the ABBY nominee fan sites include Ashley-T.com and MissTisdale.net for Ashley Tisdale, Zac-E.com and Zefron.com for Zac Efron, CorbinBleuFans.com and Corbin-B.com for Corbin Bleu and EmilyOsment.us for Emily Osment. There are also unofficial fan sites nominated for Chris Brown, Lucas Grabeel, Drew Seeley, Jordan Pruitt and Vanessa Hudgens.
“It’s an honor to be nominated”, said Ruben Santos of MissTisdale.net, who runs the unofficial fan site from Portugal.
Group unofficial fan sites also have nominations, and include sites for the Jonas Brothers, V Factory, Paramore, The Cheetah Girls, Danity Kane and Cole and Dylan Sprouse.
The sites are voted for on a special forum on the Almost Bullet website and will be awarded this July.
“We think this is a great way of rewarding the fan sites”, Johnverrell said. “These website owners are really loyal and hardworking and they deserve recognition of their own.”
