iUniverse Titles Honored in 2008 Next Generation Indie Book Awards
Bloomington, IN, June 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- iUniverse, the leading book marketing, editorial services, and supported self-publishing company, announced that two titles received Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Susan Lee-Titus’ The Dancer Returns: From Victim to Victory received a gold medal for autobiography/memoir, and Skookum Maguire’s Invasion of the Bible Thumpers: Tales of the North Woods and Other Places received a gold medal for short story–fiction.

The Dancer Returns recounts Titus’ spiritual and physical recovery after being brutally raped in her dance studio by two men with shotguns. She shares her inspirational story and the healing power she discovered in founding the Joy Dancers, an outreach program that teaches incarcerated women how to release their anger through aerobic dance. The Dancer Returns was also a finalist in the inspirational books category.

With Invasion of the Bible Thumpers, Maguire delves into the complex emotions of a business owner who is struggling to save everything that matters to him, only to be betrayed by a close employee. Maguire uses his own experiences while living in the Pacific Northwest to create stories that explore confusing emotions in unique and realistic settings.

Thirty other iUniverse titles captured 40 finalists’ awards in the 2008 Next Generation Indie Book Awards contest.
