Hollywood-Style Florida Video Production Company Injects Desperately-Needed Estrogen Into the Film Industry

While the majority of males in Hollywood are doing nothing to help increase women's visibility in the competitive film industry, Chuck Ardezzone, President and CEO of Florida video production company, InTroubleZone Productions, is blazing the trail.

Naples, FL, June 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- It should come as no surprise that even though it's the 21st Century and women are leading foreign countries, the film industry continues to be dominated by men. And while the number of women writers, producers, directors and editors is slowly beginning to rise, Hollywood's ‘Males Only Club' is not doing much in the way of helping women advance in this competitive industry.

According to the "2007 Celluloid Ceiling Report", women comprised 15% of all directors, executive producers, producers, writers, cinematographers, and editors working on the top 250 domestic grossing films. While this number may appear to be respectable, it is actually a 2% decline from 1998 and represents no change from 2006.

The ticket to women's advancement in the perpetually male-dominated industry is going to have to stem from good ‘ole grassroots movements by independent film production companies. One such female-friendly production company is InTroubleZone Productions, a Hollywood-style video production company located in Naples, Florida.

InTroubleZone Productions (ITZ) was created by its high-energy, think-outside-of-the-box President and CEO, Chuck Ardezzone, 9 years ago in New York City. Ardezzone has been involved in all aspects of the film industry (actor, director, producer, cinematographer, and writer), so he knows firsthand how important women can be to fuel the film industry's growth. "Women are invaluable, untapped resources in the film industry. They bring fresh perspectives and new production styles to a male-dominated industry, and that's just what we need right now," Ardezzone admits.

In April of 2008, InTroubleZone Productions hired its first female employee, Michelle Wood, as the company's Marketing/PR Diva. Soon after she started working for ITZ, Michelle started the company's blog, "The Estrogen Zone", to showcase ITZ's softer, more feminine side. "It's tough being the only estrogen source in an office overflowing with testosterone, but I try to handle it gracefully. Plus, paybacks can be nasty - these guys never know what's going to end up in one of my daily posts," said Wood.

While Michelle is currently responsible for the company's daily marketing and public relations tasks, she plans on learning cinematography, screenwriting, and video editing, and is currently in the process of producing her first automotive ad campaign with Ardezzone as her biggest cheerleader. "I know that with Michelle's success comes ITZ's success. We all work as a team here at ITZ, and Michelle has become an important part of our team," Ardezzone states. "It doesn't matter if my employees are men or women. If that person brings a lot of talent to ITZ's table, and that talent brings us success, that's all that matters to me."

Chuck encourages more women to come and join the InTroubleZone team.
