New Orleans Businessman to Serve on Federal Reserve Board Market Policy Panel

New Orleans, LA, December 31, 2015 --(PR.com)-- David Crais, President of Crais Management Group, LLC, and a board member with City Works, has been invited to serve on an industry stakeholder panel with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The invitation only symposia, “Reengineering the Real Estate Industry” is part of the Federal Reserve Bank “Recovery/Renewal/Rebuilding: A Federal Reserve Foreclosure Series.” Members of the panel will seek to share best practices and develop innovative solutions in addressing the current real estate market, and credit and liquidity market challenges.
The panel will cover:
Market effects from voluntary actions versus current and potential future interventions
Returning foreclosed properties to productive re-use
Disconnects between vacant units and housing needs
Reintegrating post-foreclosure consumers into the mainstream economy
Regulation or reregulation of the financial services industry as it pertains to real property and credit.
Conclusions developed from the series will seek to assess what policy actions or other responses might be most realistic to alleviate preventable foreclosures and help rebuild communities.
David Crais is an entrepreneur, corporate manager, and consultant in management and finance. He holds or has held licenses in real estate, insurance, securities, finance, banking, and underwriting. He has served as Chairman of the Louisiana Imports and Exports Trust Authority; a municipal bond issuing agency; Vice President of Sales & Business Development with Careside, Inc., a publicly traded medical device and information technology manufacturer in Chicago and Los Angeles; was licensed and served with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, & Smith; and was also a government property management contractor with the Resolution Trust Corporation. The “RTC” as it was known, was enabled by Congress with disposing of foreclosed and REO properties held by failed Savings & Loans, and Community Banks of the late 1980’s. He has served and is active with a variety of Hurricane Katrina recovery organizations including Urban Land Institute initiatives, Rockefeller Foundation, Bring New Orleans Back Commission, Louisiana Speaks, International Economic Development Council, RAND Corporation, et al. He is a frequent media guest commenting on Go Zone Act incentives, investment tax credits, and economic development.
Mr. Crais, a native of New Orleans, is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, and attended graduate school at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Mexico. He has also studied at LSU, Tulane, and the California Institute of Technology. He is a co-owner of Crais Management Group, LLC, an 8(a) MBE firm, with his wife Maria Eugenia. Maria holds a Certification in Construction Management and is a Cost Segregation Specialist.
