Cheese It Up On The Mountain - Vail Company Tasking Satellite to Capture Images of Popular Ski Resorts
Vail Company is Now Tasking a Satellite to Capture Images of Some of Most Popular Ski Resorts
Vail, CO, April 12, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Over the next 30 days SnowVisual, LLP, based in Vail, Colorado, will be tasking the IKONOS Earth Imaging Satellite, orbiting 423 miles (623 km) above the Earth, to make fifteen 98-minute orbits around the globe each day to capture striking images of some of the most popular ski resorts in the country. Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Keystone, Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and California's Heavenly Ski Resort are all scheduled for acquisition. Skiers and snowboarders who are up on these mountains during this time should look up and say CHEESE!
While SnowVisual is not unique in using satellite technology to acquire striking images from space it is, to the best of the company's knowledge, the only company that focuses on ski resort data. The imagery, which has a pixel resolution of one meter, captures exacting detail of the natural terrain unique to each ski resort. Ski and snowboard enthusiasts are able to view their favorite powder stashes, tree runs and back country as never before. Moguls, cornices, gullies and perfectly manicured slopes are all shown in striking detail.
SnowVisual's satellite prints of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts have gained great popularity and are currently available in many of Vail Valley's prominent retail shops. The company expects to soon be making its new satellite imagery available online at www.snowvisual.com and in retailers throughout Denver, Summit County and Lake Tahoe region.
The company also provides a variety of satellite imagery products and services focused on meeting the demanding requirements of your business. They provide expertise in all forms of satellite imagery acquisition and processing.
Established in 2005, SnowVisual, LLP is owned and operated by two entrepreneurial ski and snowboard enthusiasts and is the only company to exclusively produce satellite images of the world's most popular ski resorts. "We are very excited to soon be offering breathtaking lithograph prints of these popular resorts. There's nothing like reliving your ski vacation through the eye of a satellite image," says founder Kenleigh Hobby.
SnowVisual will follow-up with a press release of acquisition dates and times, so skiers and snowboarders will know if they were on the mountain when the images were captured.
