Crystal Sound Institute Launches Crystal Singing Bowl Quantum Healing Intensives in the U.S., 12-Month Training and Study Programs Begin in October

Santa Cruz, CA, June 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Amrita Cottrell and Susie Nelson-Smith are leading holistic practitioners/musicians who practice crystal sound healing therapies on different continents. With a combined 19 years’ in sound healing, they’ve launched CSI, the newly formed Crystal Sound Institute. The Crystal Sound Institute is a learning community without walls that convenes in intensives of hands-on training workshops and web-based learning modules. The inaugural program begins in October, 2008 on the Oregon Coast with another training beginning in April, 2009 in Northern Georgia. Cottrell and Nelson-Smith will also tour the Northwest U.S. and Vancouver, BC, in October 2008 and will present at the Sound Healing Network’s 2008 Conference at Rowe Conference Center in Massachusetts, October 31-November 2, 2008.

They invite crystal bowl enthusiasts to join them for the training and study program in the ever-expanding world of crystal sound healing. Crystal Singing Bowls are considered by many to be leading-edge sound healing tools embraced by many allopathic and holistic doctors such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Mitchell Gaynor and Dr. Deepak Chopra. Crystal bowls are endorsed by numerous counselors, teachers, massage therapists, spas/healing retreats and individuals worldwide as part of expanding planetary health consciousness. The knowledge, essence and techniques of healing and working with crystal tools are more important than ever before.

Cottrell, who healed herself of breast cancer in 1999 with the sound of her own voice, is Director of the Healing Music Organization (www.healingmusic.org). She lives and practices in Santa Cruz, CA where she is a teacher with vast knowledge of sound healing and resonance medical research, a performer and practitioner in various sound healing settings including creator and director of the Healing Music Organization – “a really good HMO,” says Cottrell. She has also presented at large sound healing conferences and in academic sound settings.

Cottrell is a soon-to-be-published author of several books including “The Encyclopedia of Sound” and “The Healing Mandala: An Integrated Approach to Preparing for Surgery, and “Graceful Amazon”, which tells of her healing from breast cancer using sound healing practices. She has also co-recorded, and co-produced a highly-acclaimed recording called “Entering Devachan”. It includes crystal bowls, nature sounds, voice and other sound healing instruments.

Nelson-Smith, is an internationally recognized teacher and sound healer from New South Wales, Australia. She is based in Sydney Australia where she has The Karyna Centre for Transformation (www.crystalsoundandlight.com). Nelson-Smith brings her passion and fascination for life and its mysteries to every aspect of her teaching, performing and personal life. Since the age of 12, she has been a student of religion, spirituality and the esoteric mysteries. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, History and Philosophy in 1984 and with a Post Graduate degree in Communication Management in 1991. Nelson-Smith worked as Chief Executive Officer of a Training Centre for specially disadvantaged and long term unemployed people for 12 years and was a Justice of the Peace for 20. She is trained and certified in Reiki, Aromatherapy, Swedish & Remedial Massage and Reflexology. She travels extensively on her Travelling Troubadour Tours where she teaches her range of specialties and performs unique Crystal Sound Concerts in Australia and overseas. Nelson-Smith has created and produced three successful and widely acclaimed crystal bowl CDs – “Opening the Heart to Compassion”, “Opening the Heart to JOY” and “Opening the Heart to LOVE”.
