YaWords.com, a New Search Engine Based on Words Sold to Big-spending Advertisers for a New Form of Business
A young Italian entreprenuer launches a new search engine based on words sold to big-spending advertisers with the aim to create a new form of business.
Los Angeles, CA, April 15, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Marco Montresor aims to pave his way by selling words online, rather than baking bread. The Italian entrepreneur and software programmer set up www.yawords.com and dedicated himself to his online business, just before putting on an apron and becoming a baker.
Milena, his baker, said, "I knew that Marco had some economic problems and I offered him temporary work in my bakery, but he pestered me to buy the word 'bread' instead, offering me a new way to advertise my products on the Web."
Normally, during an Internet search, the engine proposes a long list of links. "If people need to buy a computer, it makes no sense to see a long list of links to Web pages talking about computers,” Montresor said. “It's easier to search for the word 'computer' and have a direct link to a site that sells computers."
Montresor says that people need a new form of advertising, and now, by buying words, they have a new way to directly link to their site. His aim was to create something new, simple and innovative for the Internet world that captures the imagination, and is, most importantly, useful. Montresor, considering himself a creative person, said, "There must be a new and simple way to find products on the Internet without losing yourself in links."
So, Montresor created "The Word Wide Web", a new search engine based on words where advertisers can buy any word to link to their site and products, personal page, blog or anything else. But the novelty is in the fact that the advertiser is the only owner of the word and forever.
He believes that, over time, the words will offer good value to businesses because the words are endless, theirs forever, and the site will be kept online for as long as possible.
"In the site I offer different tools for searching words including a toolbar, browser plug-in and banners,” Montresor says. “I hope that larger companies can buy the more useful and common words as soon as possible, while they are available."
