Candelari’s Pizzeria Introduces the Kid’s Take ‘n Make Pizza Kits: New Concept in Family Dining and Fun

Houston, TX, June 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Candelari’s Pizzeria introduced this week its newest concept for family fun: the Kid’s Take ‘n Make Pizza Kit. Each refrigerated package comes with an uncooked ball of pizza dough ready to be rolled into an 8” to 12” crust, Candelari’s original pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and two pizza toppings. Customers can choose the toppings they’d like with their kits.
The Take ‘n Make Pizza Kit is a new concept in the pizza industry. Its purpose is to create a fun, at-home activity for children and their families. “It’s a lot of fun to help your kids make their own pizza, bake it for them and watch them enjoy their creation,” said Michael May, founder and owner of the Candelari’s Pizzeria on Washington Avenue in Houston. A complete set of preparation instructions is included with each pizza kit.
“We know that with the economic slow-down, more people are looking to eat at home. Each kit is under $6 and creates a full meal or more for most children,” said May. The Kid’s Take ‘n Make Pizza Kits can be ordered for delivery, to-go or picked up while dining at any of the five Houston-area Candelari’s locations.
Initial sales of the product following this weekend’s launch were stronger than expected. Birthday parties are now being planned with the kits, allowing children to make their own pizzas at the restaurants or at home.
Candelari’s Pizzeria was established in 1993 using the original Italian sausage recipe created by Alberto Candelari and given to his grandson Michael May. Today, Candelari’s Pizzeria is the King of Sausages, showcasing the delicious sausage and other authentic Italian family recipes on a menu complete with appetizers, salads, entrees, pizzas and pasta dishes. Five area locations include Houston, Bellaire, Cypress, Katy and Missouri City. A complete menu, phone numbers and maps can be found online at candelaris.com.
