Local College Planning Company Launches Student-Athlete Program
Denver, CO, June 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Solutions for Tuition, a Denver-based college planning company, has recently launched Student-Athlete Rx, a unique athletic recruiting system specifically designed to help the student-athlete market themselves to get noticed by college coaches. The company will be providing free workshops on this program throughout the summer.
There are more than 360,000 students that play college sports, but only a small fraction of all college athletes get a full-ride scholarship.
“Only 10% of all high school student-athletes are offered full-ride scholarships to play college sports,” says Jay Murray, a Certified College Planning Specialist and founder of Solutions for Tuition, LLC. “If you are not a blue-chip athlete, then the only way to get noticed outside of your own local media area is to market yourself to the college coaches. You can pay a lot of money to recruiting companies to help you, but in the end your odds of getting recruited and getting scholarships is dramatically increased if you just do it yourself.”
“Student-Athlete Rx” is do-it-yourself program that helps families of high school student-athletes:
Take early control of the recruiting process in order to get the athlete at the top of the college coach’s recruiting list
Target market their student-athlete to maximize the potential athletic scholarship opportunities.
Implement creative cash flow strategies to help the family pay for the balance of college expenses, if the student-athlete only receives a partial athletic scholarship
Special guests Jack Meehan and Doug Arendell will be providing the free workshop “How To Market Your Student-Athlete to Receive Scholarships” at Five Rings Financial, 10268 West Centennial Road, Suite 302, Littleton, Colorado on July 1st from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Jack Meehan is the former director of Athletics for Cherry Creek High School and Executive Director of the Colorado High School Coaches Association.
