Stage Deli of New York at the Forum Shops Closing Sunday, June 29
ARK Restaurants announced today the closing of their popular Stage Deli of New York restaurant, located in the Forum Shops. The final day of business is scheduled for June 29, 2008.
Las Vegas, NV, June 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- New York City's Stage Deli -- a legendary hangout for comedians, athletes, and politicians -- has been slapping pastrami on rye for more than half a century. Its Las Vegas branch opened in September of 1992 and retained the Stage's brightly lit Big Apple essence. In keeping with the New York location, the focal point is a huge menu of 5-inch high sandwiches inspired by celebrities of stage and screen. Walls are hung with Broadway theater posters, bowls of pickles grace the white Formica tables, and, in the New York tradition, they have enjoyed a loyal following of enthusiastic customers.
“We have had a terrific run here at the Forum Shops, but the option for renewal of the lease was too expensive for us to remain profitable,” said General Manager Gary Bogel. All employees of the Stage Deli have been offered positions at other outlets in the ARK Restaurants family. “It was very important to me that none of my team, many who have been with Stage Deli since the doors opened, were left without jobs.”, Bogel continued, “We look forward to finding a new location for this well-loved restaurant, hopefully not too far in the future.”
The close of business for the Stage Deli is scheduled for this Sunday, June 29th at 5pm.
