Private Company Index (PCI) Cites Westminster, Colo., Firm with Top Growth Award
EssentiaLink Soars to 157% Growth, Despite Economic Downturn
Chicago, IL, July 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Entrex Private Company Index (PCI), a benchmarking index that measures the revenue performance of private companies in North America, named EssentiaLink of Westminster, Colo., the Top Growth Company for its February 2008 performance.
In spite of a slowing economy, EssentiaLink experienced a striking increase in revenue by providing simple solutions to reduce their customers’ operating and procurement expenses.

The Entrex PCI tracks the monthly revenues of a diverse range of private companies in their index portfolio. It’s a financial indicator akin to other traditional Wall Street measurements like the Dow Jones Industrial Average or the S&P Small Cap 600. The PCI focuses specifically on private companies with revenues up to $250 million.
“This is the type of growth that is sustainable,” said Stephen H. Watkins, CEO of Entrex, a Chicago-based sponsor of the PCI. “Every day we see companies that are growing in spite of a poor economy. They’re keeping their eye on the business.”
Each month, the PCI offers its index measuring private company revenues. In May, the index closed at 1075, up from its April close of 1061. It has more than doubled since it launched at 430 in 2005, which means that a subset of private companies are on a significant growth trend.
