Maryland Law Firm Eases Strain of Commuting on Employees' Pockets
Stein Sperling Launches Employee Program to Combat Rising Commuting Costs.
Rockville, MD, July 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Stein, Sperling, Bennett, De Jong, Driscoll & Greenfeig, P.C., one of suburban Maryland's largest full service law firms, today announced the launch of a new program designed to help ease the financial impact of increasing commuting costs on its employees. Effective June 1st, Stein Sperling has decided to compensate its non-attorney staff members with a supplemental gas reimbursement payment each month. Stein Sperling is part of a growing list of companies which have implemented programs to help employees cope with commuting expenses resulting from escalating gasoline costs.
One Stein Sperling employee who travels 104 miles round trip each day, was very appreciative of the new workplace program. “I have been commuting for nearly eight years and the continuous hike in gas prices has left me in a financial bind,” stated Jill Tyler. “I was extremely thankful when Stein Sperling announced that it would be giving its employees a monthly increase to help out with commuting expenses.”
“Many of our non-attorney employees travel long distances everyday by car, train and bus to get to our offices,” stated Millard S. Bennett, Managing Principal, Stein, Sperling, et al. “This says a lot about our support staff and the commitment they bring to their positions at the Firm. While we can’t solve the problems our staff may be facing due to the rise in costs, we felt that we should do something to help alleviate at least some of the sting of the increase.”
