NSCS Awards $5,000 Graduate Scholarships to Four Members
Washington, DC, July 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- NSCS awarded four NSCS-GEICO graduate school scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.
These recipients are:
Giang Tran; alumnus of The University of Utah; working toward an M.D. from The University of Utah School of Medicine
Nicole Surico; alumnus of the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign; working toward a doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine
Trevor Miller; alumnus of the United States Naval Academy; working toward a Master's of Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government
Michael Hole; alumnus of Butler University; working toward an M.D. from Stanford University's School of Medicine
NSCS is proud to offer scholarships that help members transition from their undergraduate studies, NSCS’ Executive Director Stephen E. Loflin said, “Our goal is to provide a lifetime of opportunities for members. The new NSCS Graduate Scholarship provides the incentive for students like these to continue their academic pursuits.”
Award recipients are chosen on the basis of their essays on their graduate school plans, as well as a recommendation letter. NSCS is built on the principles that with scholarship comes a responsibility to develop leadership and a duty to perform service.
