Ad Ventures Hawaii - Your Island Pages license TelID Technology

Honolulu, HI, April 16, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Independent publishers Ad-Ventures Hawaii and DataNational have both announced that they have signed on to license TelID’s “Find a Web Site with a Phone Number” technology. Ad-Ventures Hawaii – YOUR ISLAND PAGES and DataNational will sell the service to their advertisers and will designate those advertisers in their books with highlighted telephone numbers. Users who see the highlighted number are directed to go to the TelID Web site and enter the business’ phone number in order to reach that business’ Web site. Users can also type the phone number directly into their URL address box after the TelID URL

Ad-Ventures Hawaii has already sold TelID for its Oahu directory, published last month, and will roll out the feature to three more of its 12 directories this year.

According to Henry Whitfield, founder of TelID, Ad-Ventures Hawaii had a successful cycle selling the TelID solution. Through telemarketing-only efforts, the publisher was able to close roughly 30 percent of its advertisers with Web sites. During the short campaign, which lasted less than four weeks, Ad-Ventures Hawaii sold roughly 1,000 TelID listings and tallied incremental revenues of nearly US$170,000.

Ad-Ventures Hawaii, which features the TelID logo on its front covers, has expectations of growing its revenues 5 percent to 10 percent through the selling of TelID.

The price points will vary by publisher and market but on average are comparable to the cost of an extra line or a bold extra line.

Repeat usage of the technology could be a concern as users might remember the business’ URL rather than using its telephone number to find it. However, David Gilbert, chief financial officer of DataNational, says: “In very few instances do we expect this to happen. URLs are often cumbersome, and bookmarking isn’t something everyone does for every URL they use. Phone number usage is ingrained in the consumer’s mind and requires very little effort on their part.”
