Local Coach Honored by His Peers

Solon, OH, July 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Jose Velez of Twinsburg, Ohio has been selected as the Ohio USA Gymnastics Optional Coach of the Year. Velez was selected from a group of coaches nominated from various clubs throughout the state. Velez was presented with his award at the Ohio USA Gymnastics State Banquet Saturday, June 28 in Coumbus for his dedication to gymnastics excellence, professionalism, and service to the gymnastics community and its athletes. Velez, who is the owner and Head Coach of The Elite Gymnastics Academy in Solon, has been coaching gymnastics for over 25 years. During the 2007-08 competititive season, Elite Gymnastics had numerous state champions, regional qualifiers and a national qualifier who finished 15th in the country in her age division.
