Are You the Curious Kind? 40+ Artists Band Together for a Monumental 2nd Saturday.
On July 12, 2008, Sacramento's BrickHouse Art Gallery is sure to make it's mark on the 2nd Saturday scene as collectors are treated to pieces by both well-known and underground artists from the US, UK, Canada, and Spain. The show will feature 190 pieces by 50 artists from 7 countries in one fell swoop.
Sacramento, CA, July 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- As the curator of the next show at Sacramento's BrickHouse Art Gallery, artist Mark Fox has a lot of work on his hands... 190 pieces to be exact. If that number doesn't impress, keep the diversity of the show in mind: 190 pieces by 50 artists from 7 countries in one fell swoop. Yet, despite their origins and media, this curious band of artists has one thing in common… urban appeal.
In addition to his own work, Mr. Fox has assembled an impressive group of artists spanning two urban art collectives (Alternative Online Artists and Scary Art Collective) and beyond. Appropriately titled "Curious Band of Artists", the show opens at six o'clock on Saturday, July 12. "This show has turned into a creative movement," states artist Nicole Fox, "a modern 'Woodstock' of the West coast alternative art scene." As a testament to its diversity, a 108-page artwork catalogue has been published for the occasion.
The opening is sure to make it's mark on the 2nd Saturday scene as collectors are treated to pieces by both well-known and underground artists from the US, UK, Canada, and Spain. Local favorites Mark Fox, Nicolas Caesar, C!NDER, and John Stuart Berger will be sharing wall space with artists such as Jesse Reno, THH70, Nils Jawa, Nix Toxic, and Anna Todaro.
