Rainbow Essence Natural Skin Care Products Winter Skin Care
Rainbow Essence convey to the public why it is necessary to use Natural Skin Care products rather than commercial products for the fight against winter dryness.
Melbourne, Australia, July 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Winter has arrived and although we can experience dry skin over summer due to sun exposure, many people experience very dry skin over winter due to the skin being exposed to the cold, having hotter showers and central heating which depletes the atmosphere of its' humidity.
Wendy Simmons, Director of Rainbow Essence announced “we are looking at Dry Skin in the winter and tips for maintaining healthy, moisturised skin. Our Hand & Body Lotions are designed to counteract the effects of low humidity and aid in skin repair.
Dry skin is not necessarily due to lack of moisture. Whilst it is important to keep well hydrated, dry skin is usually due to damage caused by skin care products that cause drying and, of course, the environment such as cold weather, too much sun exposure or extremes of temperature, air conditioning, heaters etc
When the skin becomes damaged, it loses its ability to retain moisture, therefore the aim is to repair the damaged skin allowing moisturisers to do their job.
“This is where natural skin care products come in.” added Wendy Simmons. “If you are using skin care products that contain harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives or artificial fragrances then you are subjecting your skin to repeated damage. Add this to environmental factors and you have a recipe for dry, damaged skin.”
Simmons tips for avoiding dry skin-
Avoid exposing your skin to harsh weather conditions and always wear a sunscreen.
Go through your bathroom cupboards and throw away all products containing harsh chemicals or irritants such as Ethanol (alcohol), mineral oil, petrolatum, polyacrylamide, salicylic acid or sodium lauryl sulphate, just to name a few. Use natural skin care products only.
Avoid commercial soap or cleansers.
Use an exfoliant to aid in skin cell turnover.
Regularly use a moisturiser and keep re applying as soon as your skin feels dry. Keep a moisturiser in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in your handbag and at work.
Apply a serum after moisturising your face that is rich in plant oils and antioxidants.
