Premier Biosoft International and Veridiam Form Strategic Marketing Partnership to Provide Integrated Tissue Microarray Analysis Solution

Powerful software analysis complements a unique product line of novel medical devices designed to enable researchers to assemble and analyze multiple tissue specimens on a single glass slide.

San Diego, CA, November 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Premier Biosoft International, a dedicated provider of intuitive software solutions for molecular biologists, and Veridiam, a leading manufacturer of semi-automated tissue microarray instrumentation, today announce the formation of a joint strategic marketing partnership to offer integrated solutions for critical tissue microarray data (TMA) analysis.

The semi-automated tissue arrayer is based on proprietary patent-pending technologies that allow for the creation of customized tissue microarrays using multiple tissue cores on a single glass slide. Historically, tissue processing and analysis is performed on a one tissue section per slide basis. Veridiam tissue arrayer instrumentation provides tools for constructing high–density tissue arrays, which may contain over 500 tissue sections on one slide. This, in turn, results in major savings in time, money and valuable tissues and ensures reliable results in modern high-throughput histopathology.

Veridiam arrayers are also the only tissue array instruments on the market that feature a microscope station integrated with the donor and recipient block stations. More information about Veridiam semi-automated tissue arrayers is available at www.veridiamtissuearrayer.com.

TMA Foresight Solution:
Premier Biosoft’s TMA Foresight software, a program designed especially for use with Veridiam's VTA-100 and VTA-110 tissue arrayers, provides critical and timely TMA data analysis.

TMA Foresight can be used for a wide variety of analyses ranging from simple descriptive statistics that include mean, sum, and variance to more advanced data correlation such as Hierarchical clustering and Kaplan Meier plots. It can explore the relatedness of prognostic marker expression and clinico-pathological variates with the outcome. Cox's Proportional Hazard analysis can be used for prognostic marker identification. Hierarchical clustering can be used to group patients on the basis of a clinico-pathological parameter or a biomarker. Kaplan-Meier plots and log-rank tests can then be used to identify prognostically significant clusters. It can threshold a particular marker and stratify patients into high risk and low risk cohorts. “The Premier Biosoft – Veridiam alliance serves to align our core business strengths and complement each company’s product line,” said Kay Brown, V.P. Business Development and Marketing, Premier Biosoft International. “Unlike general statistical packages, TMA Foresight is a unique program that performs all the statistical requirements necessary for tissue microarray data analysis.”

“Our customers appreciate receiving complete and cost-effective solutions from a single source,” said Patrick Lorenz, General Manager of Veridiam’s Poway, CA. facility. “From one company that offers a wide variety of fabrication options and custom engineered products. Our partnership with PREMIER Biosoft ensures our marketplace advantage through enhanced array technology based on multiple specimen analysis,” he added.
