St. Paul, MN, July 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A new program was announced today to get kids outside, get them active and help them learn about nature with the adults in their lives. It's called Adventure Kid Club (www.AdventureKidClub.com), and it features pages and pages of downloadable material that offers specific, kid-friendly fun facts about the natural world. These fact sheets are bright and colorful -- written by a Mom, and illustrated with crayon drawings done by her kids and their friends -- and can be used by adults to get kids enthused about nature and begging to go outside on their next adventure.
Adventure Kid Club adventures offer facts about plants and animals that are commonly found, so kids and parents will have plenty of fun discussing what they see. And while the information is catered toward the interests of children, its also surprising and fun for adults to learn. Part of the fun of Adventure Kid Club is the excitement of getting kids out, doing an activity that -- surprise -- is lots of fun for the grown-ups, too. Adults are kept involved in the fun every step of the way, so Adventure Kid Club is truly an all-family fun experience.
A shortened version of the first Adventure Kid Club outing, "At the Park," is available now for free download at www.AdventureKidClub.com, and more adventures will be available for purchase by mid-June. The first full-length adventure will be an extended version of the free "At the Park" that includes twice the info, plus a handy, single-sheet version of the facts for parents to bring along and refer to. Soon to come as well will be "At the Lovely Little Lake," an adventure that can take place around any pond or natural pool of water, and "10-Minute Adventures," an assortment of short little learning trips that take place right outside the home.
Adults are also offered pointers on how to keep kids safe, comfortable and happy as they adventure, and how to reward them with fun little imaginary "points" to keep them enthused about learning and playing in the out-of-doors. And kids who know how to enjoy nature are never bored -- because they can find fun anywhere.
Adventure Kid Club offers the materials and know-how for kids and adults to get outside, get active and have fun together. It's lots of fun for grown-ups and kids, alike.
About Adventure Kid Club:
Adventure Kid Club was started by Kathy Fredriksson, a Minnesota mother of two who began taking "adventure walks" with her kids in a small patch of woods near their home. As the walks progressed, she and the kids thought of more and more things to make these walks fun, and Adventure Kid Club was born. Kathy and her boys have been enjoying nature together ever since.
