Contour Adjustable Beds Partners with America’s Heroes of Freedom to Donate 20 Beds to Wounded Troops
Contour Adjustable Bed Company Launches "Contour In the Community," a Program Designed to Give Back to the Community and Focus on Specific Projects That Will Make a Difference in the Lives of Others.
Ben Salem, PA, July 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- This summer, twenty War on Terror veterans with severe and debilitating injuries will be able to sleep more comfortably, thanks to Contour Adjustable Beds, the nation’s premier quality comfort adjustable bed. The company announced today that it is partnering with America’s Heroes of Freedom (AHOF), one of the most respected non-governmental providers of emergency financial relief and programs to severely wounded troops from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, to identify deserving veterans to receive the beds.
“We are humbled by the sacrifice that tens of thousands of American’s make to defend our country’s freedom every day,” said Jeffrey Mowrey, Executive Director of the Association of Contour Adjustable Bed Distributors. “However, not everyone serving our country returns safely. There is a great need among our soldiers injured in the line of duty for adjustable beds to help them sleep more soundly and recover comfortably from their injuries after being discharged from the hospital. We wish we could donate a Contour Sleep System to every soldier with significant injuries,” added Mowrey. “We hope that this donation is just the first of many in our partnership with AHOF.”
Contour researched many non-profit organizations before choosing AHOF to partner with for its Contour in the Community adjustable bed donation program. Two main factors determined Contour’s decision to partner with AHOF. First, as a grass roots, all volunteer organization, 100% of donations to the organization go directly to its programs. Secondly, AHOF is one of very few organizations allowed by the military onto its bases and medical facilities. AHOF volunteers work directly with military case officers to determine need and how best to aid each soldier individually.
“One of the reasons that we liked America’s Heroes of Freedom is its organizational vision and their unique approach to defining heroes,” said Mowrey. “In addition to working with the military the organization also helps law enforcement, fire and rescue and civil service workers.”
“We are truly honored to be chosen by the Contour Adjustable Bed company,” said Susan Brewer, President and Founder of AHOF. “Their recognition of our efforts means a great deal to us and we are very excited to accept this donation. Contour Adjustable Beds are made of the highest quality and they will truly help these injured troops achieve a better nights rest, which will in turn help them on the road to recovery,” added Brewer.
AHOF will award the first beds to injured veterans released from Navy Medical Center, San Diego in late July.

About America’s Heroes of Freedom:
America's Heroes of Freedom (AHOF) is founded and presided by Susan Brewer. AHOF was incorporated as a non-profit organization in April 2002. Located in Washington, D.C., AHOF's first and major effort was "Washington D.C. Honors America's Heroes of Freedom" — a tribute event that honored the heroes that helped save lives on September 11th and offered over 1,800 Pentagon family members a venue for healing.
AHOF primarily focuses on military, law enforcement, fire and rescue, and civil services. It also reaches out to individuals whose acts are instrumental in rescuing others from harm's way, who act selflessly in the face of danger, and who provide comfort to those suffering after a public tragedy.
