Dallas, TX, July 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Podshow Radio Interviews Radio Legend 'Redbeard' About The Slow Demise Of Radio.
Radio Legend & Host of the National music show 'In The Studio' was a recent guest on Podshow Radio to discuss the past, present and future of both terrestrial and satellite radio. During the interview, host Brent Bradley asked Redbeard about how he got started in radio as well as the beginning of album rock. ‘I used to bring in my own albums to play on the show”.
Following a discussion on the explosion of FM radio in the seventies and what helped save AM radio from extinction, the interview centered around such things as the rivalry between Dallas radio stations KTXQ (Q102) and KZEW (The Zoo) and why to this day he thinks that was a good thing. Also discussed in detail is why Redbeard fills Clear Channel Communications is one of the main reasons that listeners are switching to Ipods, satellite and internet radio at alarming rates. You would think that with all the freedom that XM Radio offers it’s online talent it would be a awesome place to work. Well according to Redbeard it was a great place to be and he tells the Podshow Radio listeners why he enjoyed it so much as well as why he eventually resigned from XM.
Also discussed in the interview, is why Redbeard and his wife moved out of the big city of Dallas, Texas to a small town where he now does his national radio show from his studio on a twenty acre ranch. Redbeard has interviewed music legends such as AC/DC, David Bowie, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and Van Halen just to name few. He has earned a place in the Rock and Roll hall of fame permanent radio exhibit and continues to enjoy doing radio even though he says this is not a good time for others to get into the business.
