Google I/O Conference Highlights Discussed at New York Web Standards Meetup Group, NYC July 24
New York, NY, July 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- theMechanism, a multi-disciplinary design agency with offices in New York, London and Durban, South Africa, announces that the NY Web Standards Meetup Group http://webstandards.meetup.com/118/calendar/8037607/ will review the 2008 Google I/O Conference. This month’s Meetup will be held at theMechanism’s New York office 440 9th Avenue, 8th floor at 7:00 pm on July 24, 2008.
The Google I/O conference was hosted in San Francisco on May 28, 2008. For two days, the programming community convened to learn about development technologies that are moving web applications forward. The Google/IO conference provided the opportunity to attend 90 sessions focused on the next generation of Web applications with Google and open technologies. In addition, attendees were given access to breakout sessions which included introductory talks and in-depth roundtable discussions. Jeffrey Barke, senior developer and information architect at theMechanism - New York, was on location to attend several of the sessions.
During this month’s NY Web Standards Meetup, Jeffrey will review Google's developer products and share conference highlights centered around Gears, Google App Engine and the Google Ajax APIs. "I've never been at another conference where I learned so much in so little time and left so anxious to get home and start playing with these fabulous tools," said Jeffrey Barke.
NY Web Standards Meetup features members of the web design and development communities gathering for an evening of comprehensive deliberations and networking. In addition to personal introductions and Web standards discussions, optional ‘show and tell’ sessions are welcomed.
As a monthly event, the NY Web Standards Meetup is focused on bringing valuable information, trends, insights and best practice development techniques to the web development community.
"theMechanism strives to be a leader in the practice of web standards and accessibility,” said Dave Fletcher, founding partner & creative director of theMechanism. “Facilitating the New York Web Standards Meetup Group at our Manhattan office is one way for us to lead by example while encouraging an personal and professional sodality among like-minded designers and agencies in the greater New York area."
