Certified avionics shops are welcome to contact AvSpec about selling used equipment through Av Shack. Advanced web technology from Big Leaf, LLC makes it easy to add items to the store. Since AvSpec handles all phone calls and transactions, the seller is able to move inventory with minimal effort. When an item sells, all the seller has to do is package and ship the item to the buyer. AvSpec takes care of the paperwork and financial transaction processing for a small percentage of the selling price.
Visitors to the store can browse the inventory in two convenient formats. One format includes a thumbnail photo of each item. The other format is text-only and offers a more compact list for faster scanning. A single click switches back and forth between formats.
Items listed in Av Shack may have one of several conditions. Items known to be in working order when removed from a plane are listed “As Removed.” Items listed as “New” have not been installed and are usually in the original box, opened or unopened. In some cases, items have been fully tested or reconditioned and are listed in “Serviceable” condition with appropriate FAA Form 8130 documentation or equivalent. Most items shown in Av Shack are in “As Removed” condition. Some items are listed as “Unknown” condition and are priced at surplus or salvage levels.
The AirportView.net (TM) web site is host to live weather cameras located at Colorado airports. The site provides current weather images and conditions. Pilots, the general public and anyone interested in the weather will find a unique service at Airport View. The most unique feature is the live, time-lapse movie available for each camera. Images are recorded every minute and the time-lapse sequences span one, two or four hours. A separate collection of unusual weather events includes many sequences spanning an entire day.
