Social Networking Site for Young Actors Announces Toastmasters Youth Program
ChildrenInFilm.com, a social networking site for parents of child actors and industry professionals, is hosting a Toastmasters event designed to help young people perfect their public speaking skills.
Los Angeles, CA, July 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- An eight-week program in the fundamentals of oral communication and leadership is being planned for young people in the Los Angeles area.
The program, called Youth Leadership, will be presented at no charge by members of the Toastmasters for Writers club.
The Youth Leadership course has been developed by Toastmasters International, a world-wide public speaking organization, specifically for young people. The program offers young people an opportunity to learn effective speaking, analytical listening, and critical thinking. It also provides practice in properly conducting a conference or meeting.
The class will meet on Saturdays during August and September at The Oakwood Toluca (in Los Angeles). It is open to all young people of junior high or high school age at no cost.
Cynthia Gilstrap, the Youth Leadership Program Coordinator, said that young people or parents interested in the program may contact her at 818 901 0082 or visit childreninfilm.com.
Children In Film, Inc., formed in 2000 by Toni Casala in Los Angeles California, started with a mission to inform, protect and empower the lives and careers of children in the film and television industry. Being the only website of its kind, childreninfilm.com provides a powerful social network and resource center for successful connection between child actors, parents and industry processionals. CIF also works hard to promote a healthy and positive view into the world of child actors by posting stories of successful child actors, as well as interviews and blogs from parents who have kept their children in a safe and thriving environment. With a continued mission to enrich the lives of child actors, CIF has decided to host this Youth Leadership Program thus providing the chance for its members to experience the benefits of participating in Toastmasters.
