IBS Enterprise ERP Software to Support Speedy Products UK’s Chinese Operations
IBS UK and IBS Asia Pacific have announced that Speedy Products UK has signed an agreement to implement IBS Enterprise ERP software at Speedy’s China acquisition (Paloma Decorative Products) in Suzhou and Shanghai. The project, valued at more than GBP 220,000 (~EUR 286,000), will see both Chinese operations operating remotely via Virtual Private Network (VPN) connected to an upgraded IBM System i server based at Speedy’s UK offices in Manchester.)
Sydney, Australia, July 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Speedy Products, based in Salford, Manchester, UK, is one of the world’s leading specialists in window furnishings technology, delivering innovative solutions that help drive market expansion. The company has been an IBS Enterprise software user since 2005 and has implemented a totally integrated ERP system for all aspects of the business, including finance, production, warehouse management, distribution and sales.
Following the acquisition of the business in China, Speedy carried out a full manufacturing business process review and identified that much of Paloma’s requirements could be catered for via functionality that already exists within IBS Enterprise. Initially, Paloma will use the simplified Chinese version of IBS Enterprise software. Modules for Distribution, Financials and Output Solutions will support the business. The ERP software will run on a newly upgraded IBM Power Server (formerly System i) platform installed and configured by IBS UK, with IBS Asia Pacific implementing the ERP software in China.
Howard Clyne, Technical Manager for Speedy Products Limited, comments:
“We have been very happy with the performance and service of IBS software and service provision since we implemented some years ago. When IBS proposed an IT infrastructure that would allow us to host a system being used in China on equipment based here in the UK, it represented a compelling and effective solution to our requirements.”
Mark Cockings, IBS Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing, comments:
“This deal confirms many of our core strengths. IBS has the international capability to deliver an ERP system simultaneously on opposite sides of the world, and provide all the technical expertise to make it happen and fully support it. This project sets an interesting precedent for many other companies in the UK and Europe with manufacturing operations in the Far East that are looking for a comprehensive, cost-effective and manageable ERP solution for their global businesses.”
Rajiv Parrab, Area President for IBS Asia Pacific, adds:
“We have worked extensively with Speedy in the UK and China as well as with IBS UK to ensure we can deliver the best possible solution for the customer. The fact that we can offer a fully integrated system across two continents clearly demonstrates the international capabilities of IBS ERP software, such as the multi-language and multi-currency functionality, and confirms the commitment we show to maintaining long term relationships with customers, to help them succeed and grow their business.”
