Local Landscape Company Celebrates 30 Years as Family-Owned Business in Southeastern Wisconsin

Waukesha, WI, July 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- When Rick Hase started his own landscape company 30 years ago, shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, he had no idea what was in store for him.

"I always knew I'd like to start my own landscape company, and I figured there was no better time to start," Hase said. Starting your own company is quite challenging; I was really just hoping it would continue to grow."

Grow it did. Today, Hase is president of Hase Landscape, Co. which serves all of southeastern Wisconsin with anything from small, residential landscape designs to large, multifaceted developments for residential and corporate projects. He has grown from a staff of one to more than 10, including his son, who now works summers for him when home from college.

Robb Nowak, an architect who has worked for Hase for more than 23 years says there's no place he'd rather work.

"It's a great company and a great place to work," Nowak said. We do such a wide range of projects that it keeps things interesting, while allowing me to focus on residential work, which is what I specialize in."

In conjunction with the 30-year anniversary, Hase is completing the building of a new office complex for the growing company, which is being built on a 30-acre nursery where the company is currently centered. As with many family-owned companies, Hase is intricately tied with the new office building – the top level of the building is residential, and where he will now call home.

"The new office will be great," Hase said. "It's going to allow us to expand, and give customers a great place to come and meet with us and look at plant and design examples on site."

The new building is expected to be completed this August. As for Hase, he's continuing to watch his company grow, and couldn't be happier.

"It's one of those jobs where I really do love what I do, and to be able to own my own company has just been an unbelievable experience," Hase said. I wouldn't trade it for the world."
