The 1st place winner will have his or her original chili recipe added to the menu at Milford’s Liquid Lunch restaurant. 1st Prize is $500, 2nd prize is $250 and 3rd prize is $100. There will also be a People’s Choice Award of $250.

If you just want to come out to a great family event, pack up the kids and your appetite. Donations are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 years old. There will be live entertainment, hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream as well as mmmmm good chili.
All proceeds will benefit the Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp operated by the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation, celebrating its 30th anniversary.
“This event is for the general public but it truly is centered around firefighters,” said Frank Szivos, Executive Director of the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. “Firefighters from throughout the Northeast commit a lot of their time to mentor the kids as well as burn unit nurses, physical and occupational therapists and doctors so the Camp is already a special place for them. Not many people, however, know that firefighters are avid motorcyclists who also enjoy cooking making this is the perfect event for them.”
A motorcycle rally is only complete with a custom bike show sponsored by Trantolo & Trantolo. The winners will receive cash prizes and trophies: 1st prize is $300, 2nd prize is $200. Judges will include Union First Selectman, a Trantolo & Trantolo representative and Garrison Leykam, host of the upcoming DINERS TV show on CPTV whose own bike is currently being featured in the MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles Exhibit at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. The pre-registration fee for entering your motorcycle in the Custom Bike Show is $25 ($30 the day of the event).
Newman’s Own and Green Mountain Gringo are also contributing to the chili cookoff prize list. Firefighters are notorious for their culinary skills so there should be quite an array of chili creations! In keeping with the chili theme, AutographPros.com has donated a guitar autographed by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith to be raffled off at the event.
