What is Sweet Pickles? Sweet Pickles is a series of 40 children's books from the early 80's that are set in the fictional town of Sweet Pickles and are about anthropomorphic animals with different personalities and behaviors. The series' name is a pun; in each book, the main character gets into a "pickle" (a difficult situation) because of an all-too human personality trait. Sweet Pickles books were read in various episodes of the CBS television series Captain Kangaroo. The popularity of Sweet Pickles led to many bath time products from Avon as well as sleep wear for kids. Today, Sweet Pickles have a loyal following of grown up fans who fondly remember the Sweet Pickles stories from their childhood. With Monkey in a Dryer bringing back the Sweet Pickles franchise, these fun loving characters will be reintroduced to their adult fans as well as allowing them to be introduced to a new generation of children.
While times have changed and virtually everything in todays society is being reimagined, Monkey in a Dryer is maintaining the original vivid color palette of the sweet pickles characters and adding old school graphic design elements.
