Haver and Ibau, Two World Leaders in Cement Handling Industry, to Set Up an Assembly Plant in India
Mumbai, India, July 26, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The two German premium product manufacturers Haver & Boecker and Ibau, world leaders in the storing and packing industry, will now be setting up a manufacturing unit with its main focus on the cement and building materials industry, near Baroda, through an Indian subsidiary Haver Ibau India (HIN). HIN will engineer, supply and install high-speed machinery and complete storing, packing and shipping lines for bagged cement into valve-type bags with stationary or rotating filling machines with special attention to efficiency, environmental protection and custom-tailored solutions.
Haver & Boecker (H&B) started at Hohenlimburg, Germany in 1887 and is a family owned and managed multi-national with a clear focus on packing bulk and liquid products. The group has a worldwide network of production facilities, subsidiary companies and representative offices in more than 100 countries out of which there are a total of 14 dedicated group production and service outlets. The group has approximately 2,200 employees and a group turnover of around 365 Mio € (approx 2.500 crs INR, subject to exchange rate variation).
As Indian cement industry matures, the need for a higher degree of automation, faster processes, greater turnaround time and efficiency in packing and shipping operations are needed. Haver is the technology leader and has developed machines like the Roto-Packer, MEC III, Roto-Seal and Ibau inverted cone silo technology. In addition to the 8,000 stationary filling machines, more than 3,000 Haver Rotopackers and approx. 4,000 loading systems have been delivered worldwide. Included in this number are many fully automatic high speed packing lines with hourly outputs of 4,800 bags with one machine.
The fully automatic operating Integra series is the new development for packing mortars and other fine bulk products into sealed valve bags.
The company is known for quality products in cement packaging. Dr. Reinhold Festge, Chairman Managing Director of Haver & Boecker, Germany said “Our products have been sold in India for over 58 years and command a premium in quality over our competitors, who mainly offer older designs and technologies. We are a solution provider to our customers and offer technical and operational advantages.”
Almost all major Indian cement manufacturers feature in Haver’s client list – ACC, CCI, Century, Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja, Jaypee, JK Group, Lafarge are just a few.
Earlier Haver Ibau sold their equipment through their well appointed agent network and licensee partners. It will now assemble required packing machines in India and shall give special attention to after-sales service and training of the customers operators.
Vadodara was selected as the assembly unit site as it has a good engineering infrastructure and connectivity. Haver also has a wire mesh subsidiary based in Vadodara where a total of 6 acres of land was already available and the infrastructure of the existing unit could be used instantly.
The new company anticipates hiring up to 100 people and aims to achieve a turnover of Rs. 50 crores initially. The company has a corporate university which ensures constant training. The basic degree of qualification takes 3-5 years.
Mr. Wilhelm A. Dyckerhoff, Managing Director said, “We plan to begin the assembling by October 2008. Our forte is our experience and continuous product development. In addition to the machines, we will also offer services that will enable cement firms to maximize productivity through efficient usage of machines. Our machines can pack up to 80 bags a minute”.
The parent company is also present in India in the field of wire mesh through its Indian JV Haver Standard for more than 20 years. Mr. Deven Shah, MD of Haver Standard said, “Our products are used in industries like Chemical, Fertilizer, Refineries, Polyester Yarn and the Plastic Industry. The technology edge is what makes us different”.
