Culturepoint Europe Foundation Working to Show the Richness of Cultural Diversity
The Culturepoint Europe Foundation begins its work as the “starting point” of a European network. Individuals and organisations working together to create a Europe encouraging a culture-rich society embracing cultural diversity by means of benefits, media shows, competitions, magazines and e-bulletins.
Amsterdam, Netherlands, April 24, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Culturepoint European Foundation – www.culturepoint.eu – begins its campaign to bring people and organisations together to encourage a culture which is without boundaries. It will run a number of projects over the next ten years which will include benefits, cultural shows, educational activities, competitions and research. The Foundation will largely be focused on communicating with academic institutions and interested parties and is currently looking for new members and sponsors.
”Our objective is to create ‘another sound’ in Europe through creative expression, education, competition and awards” explains Abdelillah Fikri who is Chairman and a Governing Board member of the Foundation. “All our members will be active in encouraging cultural diversity but we also want to encourage a membership made up of both active and passive members. Being a passive member will mean that you will get information about all the activities of Culturepoint Europe whilst the active members will be invited to participate in the events, shows and bulletins. In the future we see opportunities to join the board and be the real decision makers – getting the chance to make a difference and to drive the Foundation and its work forward!”
The program will begin with The “Culture meets Culture” Benefit. Due to take place in September 2006, the benefit will be a dynamic mix of International music, live performances, radio, TV, professional dance, art, fashion, films, documentaries, political debate and contributions from theatre. Contributions will be invited in order to demonstrate how cultural diversity can be rich in expression and creativity. It will be the first of eleven benefits that will act as a showcase of what the Foundation has achieved. “These benefits will each last for two days. We are approaching broadcast companies all over Europe to televise the events, and sponsors to help us make it happen. It will be a real European celebration” continues Fikri.
Culturepoint Europe was developed by a small group of people in The Netherlands, each with differing age, backgrounds, education and roots. Its objectives are to create a European movement to meet, exchange with, tolerate and respect other cultures therefore banishing fear and negativity, showing the richness in cultural diversity.
