Discussion Turns Ugly, Sonitrol Pacific Operator Sends Patrol
Audio detection technology allowed a Sonitrol Pacific operator to verify the nature of activity happening at a Washington middle school July 7.
Everett, WA, July 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Three individuals were detained at a Washington middle school after a Sonitrol Pacific operator received audio activations and heard potentially threatening conversations July 7.
The operator, an expert sound analyst, received audio sensor activations from multiple locations in the school and listened to real-time audio to determine the nature of the activity. She heard three voices engaged in normal conversation. However, as she continued to listen, the discussion turned ugly and the operator acted to dispatch the school district’s patrol service.
The security guards arrived at the school and found three suspects. The individuals were detained until the police could arrive.
Sonitrol Pacific has provided verified electronic security to school and businesses in the Pacific Northwest since 1978 and has assisted law enforcement in the apprehension of more than 4,900 suspects.
