Author to Donate 20% of Proceeds to Charity
Book to teach college students about credit cards, debit cards and student debt to partner with like-minded non-profits.
Keedysville, MD, July 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Bill Pratt, author of Extra Credit: The 7 Things Every College Freshman Wants to Know About Credit, Debt & Ca$h (Available August 11, 2008), is partnering with the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS). During the months of August and September 20% of the sales price of books sold on www.ExtraCreditBook.com, or almost $2.50 per book, will be donated to AAFCS. All sales of the book on Amazon.com will result in a donation of 50 cents per book.
Extra Credit, released August 11, 2008 is written to help high school seniors and college freshmen handle credit cards, debit cards, and other money issues.
“I want to get the message out to young adults about how to handle credit and debt. What better way than to partner with a group like AAFCS. Not only will my message get out, but a portion of the proceeds will help fund our shared message further by supporting a like-minded non-profit.”
Now in his early thirties, Pratt started writing financial advice just after college to help prevent others in his age group from making the same money mistakes he had.
“When I was a 17-year-old freshman, I signed up at a credit card table on campus just to get a free t-shirt. Before I knew it, I was a college graduate with several thousand dollars of credit card debt.”
“Debt and financial pressure is the number one reason students drop out of college; the number one reason for divorce; and the number one reason people feel stuck in the middle class,” says Pratt. “Over 1.5 million students will drop out of college this year because of money issues. My goal is to bring an energetic and fun message to campuses to stop such problems before they occur.”
Pratt delivers lectures for colleges, universities and high schools to help students with life and money questions. To schedule an interview or a seminar, please contact Bill Pratt at 301-788-2711. To order a copy of Extra Credit, log onto www.ExtraCreditBook.com or www.Amazon.com.
