About the Author: River Michaels is a U.S. Navy Veteran and former information technology instructor. A native Texan, Michael’s holds a Master of Arts from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University. She now resides in Houston, Texas where she is an avid writer and poet. The strongest and most influential has always been and continues to be her late mother who passed away in 2001.
