The Sports HQ is pleased to announce the latest golf tournament results from 14th to 20th July, 2008.
Birmingham, United Kingdom, July 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Golf Tournament results are posted weekly to The Sports HQ and include details of venue, score and which brand of golf clubs was used by which professional from the previous week.
The British Open Championship
This year's much anticipated Open Championship was staged at Royal Birkdale Golf Course in England, but despite atrocious conditions on the opening day, Padraig Harrington defended his title with a score of 3-over 283. Harrington used the following golf clubs to secure his second title: Wilson Dd6+ driver, TaylorMade Burner 3-wood, Wilson Staff Hybrid 5-wood and Staff Ci7 irons (3-4) in addition to Wilson Staff Pi5 irons (5-PW) and Staff Tw9 54- and 60-degree prototype wedges. His line-up of golf clubs was completed with an Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball blade putter. Padraig selected Titleist Pro V1x golf balls at The Open to secure his second title.
U.S. Bank Championship
July's U.S. Bank Championship saw Richard S. Johnson storm to victory on 16-under 264 at Brown Deer Park Golf Course. Johnson used the following assortment of golf clubs: Adams Insight 9015D prototype driver, Titleist 906F2 fairway wood, Adams Idea Pro 18- and 20-degree hybrids, Cleveland CG Red irons (4-PW) in addition to a Titleist Vokey Design 52-degree wedge and Spin Milled 58-degree wedge. His selection of golf clubs was finished off with a Scotty Cameron Newport Fastback putter used along-side Titleist Pro V1x balls.
State Farm Classic
Ji Young Oh stormed ahead at this year's State Farm Classic held at Panther Creek CC with a score of 18-under 270 to secure victory. Ji Young selected to use the following set of golf clubs this time round, these included a Nickent 4DX driver, Ping G10 5 and 7 woods, a Nickent 3DX 23-degree hybrid with Ping i10 irons (5-PW) in addition to Ping Tour-W 52- and 58-degree wedges. His arsenal of golf clubs was completed with an Odyssey White Hot XG7 putter and Titleist Pro V1 golf balls to finish.
3M Championship
The winner of this year's 3M Championship was R.W. Eaks on a winning score of 23-under 193. Eaks used an Adams Insight BTY driver with 3- and 5-woods. Ping i5 irons (4-PW) and i3 O-size 55- and 60-degree wedges. Finally, he selected a Fisher Talon TS-3 4-Speed putter with the popular range of Titleist Pro V1x balls.
Price Cutter Charity Championship
Colt Knost was the winner of this year's Price Cutter Championship staged at Highland Springs CC with a score of 26-under 262. Knost's selection of golf clubs was the cause of much debate on the course, he selected to use a Titleist 907D4 driver and 906F4 fairway wood, in addition to Titleist ZB Forged irons (4-PW) and Vokey Design approach and sand wedges and a Vokey Spin Milled lob wedge. The popular Scotty Cameron by Titleist Newport 1.5 T10 putter was also selected along with Titleist Pro V1x balls.
