Strategic Sustainability Consulting Announces New Green Auditor Certification Course
Clients and consultants can now look for the SSC logo to ensure green audit quality.
Bethesda, MD, July 31, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Strategic Sustainability Consulting (SSC) is pleased to announce a new program designed to train and certify environmentally-focused consultants in SSC’s own Green Audit methodology.
“We’ve been providing SSC Green Audits for more than two years, offering our small business clients a cost-effective, reliable way to assess their current environmental performance and identify ways to go green,” said SSC President Jennifer Woofter. “Now, we’re offering consultants across the country the opportunity to learn our methodology and apply it with their own clients.”
The three-day course in August instructs participants on how to calculate an organization’s carbon footprint and how to gauge employees’ attitudes and awareness about environmental issues in the workplace. Participants will also learn how to assess an organization’s environmental strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in order to make relevant, cost-effective, and impactful green recommendations.
“One of the most valuable tools in our Green Audit arsenal is our ability to benchmark clients’ carbon footprints,” said Woofter. “Instead of a seemingly random number of greenhouse gas emissions, we can tell you how your company stacks up against other similar organizations. That makes it easier to understand where you rank on the 'green' scale, and how much work you need to do.”
Upon successful course completion, the newly certified auditors will obtain an array of strategic tools, including surveys, spreadsheets, calculators, and report templates designed specifically by SSC to make the Green Audit process smooth and reliable. They will gain access to SSC’s collection of green recommendations and results, and can license the SSC Green Audit methodology and tools for conducting their own client engagements. Additionally, certified Green Auditors will be listed on SSC’s website and granted permission to use the official “Certified SSC Green Auditor” logo on their own materials.
The one-year certification program will be held August 27-29, 2008 in Washington, DC, with another session scheduled for January 28-30, 2009.
Interested participants should go to the SSC Green Auditor announcement (http://sustainabilityconsulting.wordpress.com/2008/07/02/events-become-a-certified-ssc-green-auditor/) to learn more about the requirements for Green Auditors.
Organizations interested in undertaking a Green Audit should send an email to info@sustainabilityconsulting.com for a free consultation to discuss available options.
