I started HD-Radio-Home.com because I’ve always loved radio. This dates back to my childhood when I would lie on my parents’ floor, listening mesmerized to Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Suspense, The Shadow and all those other classic radio programs.
One of my first jobs was as a promotion representative for TV Guide magazine. One station with which I worked was selling radios for $19 that broadcast in a new technology called FM. They were selling the radios at cost so people could hear their FM station. I was thrilled when they gave me one and I was able to hear music clearer and cleaner than I had ever heard before.
That was in the early 1960s. Since that time, conventional radio has changed very little in the past 40 years. You can listen to AM, where you find mostly talk radio and religious and ethnic stations, or FM where the music is. FM provides better sound than AM, but is still far from perfect.
Now, comes the great news! There’s finally a new form of over-the air, broadcast radio called HD Radio technology.
Let’s pretend you’re a talk radio fan. Just imagine how much better your experience will be when there’s no distortion, no annoying hiss, crackle, fade or static. It will be just like listening to your favorite AM station broadcast in FM.
And if music is your thing, you’ll love HD Radio technology even more because you’ll be able to hear music on your favorite classic or rock station in the clearest, cleanest, purest form ever.
