López, however, is more than just a glamorous girl next door in platform stilettos-she founded her company LOREC Ranch Home Furnishings, in 1993. Walk into any of the three showrooms: Amarillo, Pawhuska or Oklahoma City, and you’ll be greeted immediately by the aroma of wood and leather- a tell-tale sign of what is behind the turquoise walls of Oklahoma City’s showroom and manufacturing facility. Selling comes naturally to López’s sister and Vice President of LOREC ranch, Mary Wick, who brings clients on warehouse tours and sends photos of the step-by-step manufacturing, finish and upholstery progress, allowing them to experience the process via Facetime and text message.
“We’re everything from mountain modern to rustic elegance,” exclaims Wick as she leads you to the master carpenter’s work space, where the buzz of his circular saw serves as a background noise for the tour.
