Ellis Island: Where It Began and Where It Ended

German Americans were interned during WWII at the same time and in the same camps as Japanese Americans. The internment of German-Americans began on December 8, 1941 on Ellis Island and this date is being commemorated this year with a conference on the island under the title: Ellis Island: Where It Began and Where It Ended. - November 24, 2009
