Japanese Study Concludes That Home Blood Pressure Monitoring Results in Better Control of Hypertension
In a recent study, published in the Journal of Human Hypertension 2008, Japanese patients taking anti-hypertensive medication were monitored by researchers. Of these, 77% regularly monitored their blood pressure at home, and 23% did not. Those patients who took their blood pressure at home, were 46% more likely to hit a target of 140/90 mmHg in the morning, 36% more likely in the evening and 23% more likely when having their blood pressure checked in the doctor's surgery. - March 19, 2008
