College MMA Challenge and US MMA OPEN Start New Season July 19 on Paddy's Beach in Misquamicut RI
Jim Hughes and Legendary MMA fighter Royce Gracie have ten schools throughout New England. Their MMA Event promotion division, headed by Perry Siegel, joined with the Famous Paddy's Beach Restaurant in Misquamicut to host a Grappling Tournament on Saturday, July 19th at 8:00pm. The event is part of the US MMA OPEN and the College MMA Challenge which gives new talent a foothold in MMA, the fastest growing sport in the world. - July 15, 2008

The January 26, 2008: University sponsored Live the Legend (TM) and College MMA Challenge (TM); MMA 102: GRAPPLING, was a great success. Competitors converged at famous Paddy's Beach in Rhode Island on this cold winter day and put their skills to the test and represented their college spirit with great enthusiasm. University of Connecticut student Jeremy Pavlik, Western Connecticut State University student Justin Harpe, and Central Connecticut State University student Josh Randorf each demonstrated excellent MMA Grappling skills and took first, second, and third, respectively, in the College MMA Challenge: MMA 101 - GRAPPLING, event. It was a sight to be seen. Students traveled from as far as two hours away converging on the beach in Rhodes Island to compete for the first ever College MMA Challenge. - December 21, 2007
